Bates and Bacon Antique Jewelry is based in Attleboro, Massachusetts, “Bates & Bacon” is one of the oldest and most legendary jewelry makers of the 19-20th century. Its history is inextricably linked with the history of the country. Initially, the company manufactured rolled gold plated bracelets, and in 1882 they began production of watch cases. The company, destroyed by fire in 1898 and rebuilt, has changed several owners and ceased to exist during WWII. Their high-quality gold-filled pocket watch cases and jewelry, including rolled gold, filled and plated bracelets, are highly collectible now. This piece is an antique watch, gold filled and has engraved PATD Sept 22 03. (1903), and weighs 33 grams. The latches and clasps are all functioning properly.
